Finished Quilts

I have finished a few quilts since I began sewing in January, 2015.  Each one to date has taught me something about quilting and/or sewing.  Click on the Picture to go to my post about each one.

Honey's Table

I created this quilt based upon a drawing I made on isometric paper.  Unlike many of the quilts that I've built, this one has no meaning.  I just thought it looked cool.  The brown/yellow/white fabrics are very traditional while the greens are thoroughly modern.  I love the juxtaposition of the tradition with the modern.

Eternity Road

I made this quilt to present to my son and his wife on Christmas 2016.  It's a modern quilt built with traditional fabrics.  Click on the pic to read the story.

A Mother's Heart

I built this quilt for my mother.  The idea was to incorporate things important to her: football and a heart tracing.  Click the quilt to see the rest of the story.

 Libby's Leaves

This quilt was made for my Aunt Libby.  The leaves are hand chosen by her and represent her home.  Check out the whole story by clicking the pic.

Falling Mountain

Falling Mountain was made for my son Caleb.  After pestering him for months for some direction about the design, he said "orange."  So that's what I had to work with as I made this design.  Click the mountain for a behind the scenes peek.

Becky's Quilt

Built for my daughter, this is my first designed quilt.  There was nothing random about it.  Also, it was my first quilt with bought fabric.  Finally, it's the last quilt that I didn't name.  I hadn't thought to name my quilts yet, so I just call it Becky's Quilt.

William's Quilt

William is a friend who asked me to build him a king sized quilt after seeing the denim experiment I made soon after beginning to sew.  It is made entirely of recycled jeans.

The Khaki Quilt

This quilt was constructed entirely of old twill pants.  It was originally meant to be the back of William's Quilt, but I liked it so much that I decided to make it into its own quilt.  Later, I was inspired to put leaves on it, thus inspiring Libby's Leaves.

Explorations in Denim

This quilt was built from remnants of my adventures learning to sew.  It led to a bad YouTube video, a great picnic blanket, and a king-sized denim quilt.  Not too shabby for an experiment.

The Virgin Quilt

This is the story of the first quilt that I ever made.  Cleverly, I just call it the Virgin Quilt.  These are the random bits of fabric that started the whole thing.
